Finding information for your assignments

Outcomes: Marks are awarded for the research aspect of your assignment; it is important to make a good start on searching the literature to find relevant and up-to-date information. You will be able to make progress with finding information relevant to your assignment topics during the hands-on part of the workshop.

The workshop will also cover: What's a journal? How do I know what's been written where? How do I find up-to-date or specialist information? Journals are an extremely useful source of information; you can gain academic knowledge from journal articles that you won't find anywhere else. This workshop will show you how to find out what articles have been written on your subject area, how to find the articles either in print or online, and what to do if The Library at Leeds Beckett doesn't have the journal you need.
