Checklist for dissertation writing

  1. Set yourself deadlines and keep to them.
  2. Write regularly.
  3. Check that you have covered all essential sections of the report.
  4. Take care to stay within the required word limit.
  5. Check the cover sheet has the appropriate information as outlined in any guidelines.
  6. Keep the structure of your report simple and easy to follow.
  7. Think carefully about how the chapters link together.
  8. Number tables and figures and provide titles.
  9. Check your citations and references carefully.
  10. Only include items in appendices which you have referred to in your report.
  11. Give yourself time to copy edit and proofread the document.
