Embedded sessions for your students

You can arrange embedded workshops or lectures on academic communication, maths, data analysis and IT skills for all your student groups. Our workshops are taught by our Academic Skills Tutors who can customise provision to meet your precise requirements and the needs of your students. The sessions can also be timed with students’ assignments to maximise effectiveness and relevance.

Workshops or lectures are usually one hour or longer if appropriate. Induction sessions lasting 30 minutes on Skills for Learning services and online resources can also be arranged.

  • Collecting and analysing data
  • Critical thinking
  • Essay/report/dissertation writing
  • Exam preparation
  • Strategies for reading and note taking
  • SPSS and NVivo
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher

How to arrange a workshop

If you would like to arrange a workshop, please email skillsforlearning@leedsbeckett.ac.uk with the following information:

  • School
  • Course
  • Level of study
  • Topic
  • Size of group
  • Context – e.g. details of curriculum or assignment

Please contact us at least ten days in advance, to allow enough time for us to arrange and plan a session for you and ensure tutor availability.
